Michelle and I were in the same kindergarten gardening group and the same grade throughout school. We only became friends in sophomore year in math class, and eventually, we would officially date during our senior year of high school. Following that, we stayed together through college and eventually moved in together in Indianapolis. After a year and a half of living together, I took Michelle to that same garden where we'd played together during kindergarten so many years ago and proposed.
