Alyssa and I first met while serving together on a resident advisor team at the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana. On a resident advisor retreat, Alyssa and I partnered for a daylong canoe trip. The trip afforded us a lot of time to talk, which sparked a mutual desire to get to know one another better. Not long afterward, Alyssa and I began dating. Fast-forward a little over three years, and I proposed to Alyssa in the chapel of St. John's Catholic Newman Center, the same place where we first told each other "I love you." Our wedding is slated for January 2nd, 2021, and we are looking forward to starting life together.
