Our Dedication to Chicago
It's said that quality is not an act; It's a habit. No superficial, performative gesture can replace consistent excellence. We've spent seventy years building a culture of five-star service by treating each client like a guest in our home, training the right people, and trusting the instincts of our artists.
"True Blue" from the Beginning: In 1951, an extraordinary craftsman and his brilliant wife set sights on opening a fine jewelry boutique bearing their family name. Stanley and Jane Razny were leaving an entire world behind— friends and familiarity they may never again know. Together, they traveled for weeks across waters and lands to settle in Illinois, a home that promised stability with wide-open leafy roads and communities founded on family. The journey was anything but easy for a young couple. Still, they were confident it'd be more than worth it. Their future was waiting for them, after all, and all they needed was the fortitude to work for it. A gifted bench jeweler, Stanley found his place with Leed's Jewelers in the North Shore, almost 5,000 miles from where he'd started.
When the time came to dream even bigger, Stan, their third child, and his wife Ingrid took the family's vision to heights never imagined. In 1997, they redesigned our beautiful flagship in Addison to be a welcoming, spacious home for jewelry and timepiece lovers. In 1998, our partnership with Rolex, a brand synonymous with excellence and ingenuity, began, and a year later, Razny Jewelers earned the privilege to offer Addison clients timepieces by Patek Philippe.
It didn't take long for word to spread about our jewelry collections and in-house team of unmatched artists. In 2003, we opened a boutique in Highland Park, Chicago's North Shore, and another in Hinsdale in 2008. In 2020, we expanded our Rolex shop-in-shop in Highland Park, and it is truly a space you must experience in person.
In 2016, opening our fourth location in downtown Chicago's Gold Coast neighborhood was the fruition of our dream. Cutting the ribbon for this three-story boutique was like making it to home plate on a baseball diamond, culminating in a home run, four boutiques conveniently standing in our beloved city. It is one of only two shopping concepts of its kind in the nation, showcasing Rolex and Patek Philippe side-by-side and an expansive collection of designer and custom jewelry.
Dedicated to You and Your Family: During the early years, our motto was "True Blue," a reminder that our paramount priority was loyalty to the families who trusted us. Today, that devotion hasn't changed. It is still baked into our DNA to do all we can for each person walking through our door. We continue to show care for the people who trust us by offering the world's best treasures and supporting local humanitarian efforts. Every expert at Razny Jewelers is an active member of the communities we serve, just like the families who walk through our doors.
Where do we go from here? There's a saying we like to remember, "How you got where you are is how you'll get to where you're going." Come what may, our dedication to luxury design must never change. Our founder's meticulous craftsmanship and commitment to real gems, a commitment necessary to protect luxury jewelry's rare and valuable nature, are perpetually ingrained into the Razny Jewelers philosophy.
From Stan and Ingrid, along with our children Eric, Christine, and Michael – three generations of owners and Gemologists serving you side by side – thank you for making Razny Jewelers your forever jeweler. Here's to another 70 years of luxury!
