Fountain pen Pen of the Year 2018, Extra Broad
Fountain pen Pen of the Year 2018 Black Edition, Medium
Twin babies are thrown into a river and left to drown. A roaming wolf mercifully saves and suckles them, unaware of the greatness she nurtures. According to legend, one of those twins, Romulus, later forms a city on the same river that would have been his death. That city, Rome, grew strong enough to rule the entire globe. It was boundless, eternal. Emperors, gladiators, and legions all shaped a culture that continues to influence the art, justice, and politics of today. Rock-solid were their ambitions, but they built their lives on marble, the soft stone.
The “Imperium Romanum” 2018’s Pen of the Year, tells the story of an epoch and people whose deeds made a lasting impression on the history of humanity. Each pen is produced by hand and features marble columns, bound by platinum-plated rings. The miniature Roman penny in the cap is modeled after a rare silver coin (denarius) depicting Ceasar’s head. The nib is crafted from 18K gold and inscribed by hand.
The black edition perfectly embodies this exclusive collection in black stone with pronounced white veins. Its anthracite-grey PVD coating gives it an ever-changing appearance over the course of time and use. It is fitted with a ruthenium-plated 18K gold nib which complements the masculinity of the barrel. The cap is also adorned with a denarius depicting Ceasar.
All writing instruments are individually numbered and come in a highly polished wooden case. A certificate bearing the signature of Count Charles von Faber-Castell attests that these are all strictly limited editions.
